Which project received the Guinness title for world’s largest continuous concrete pour? The Wilshire Grand Center in the USA or the Lakhta Center Tower in Russia?
Well, it was very close!
On February 16, 2014, the concrete foundation at the Wilshire Grand Center in Los Angeles was poured using 16,208.6 cubic meters (21,200 cubic yards) of concrete earning this project the Guinness World Record title. But, this record did not last that long when the Lakhta Center Tower’s foundation was laid in March 1, 2015 using 19,624.0 cubic meters (25,667.22 cubic yards) of concrete. However, it should be noted that the the concrete pour at the Wilshire Grand Center was completed within 18.5 hours, while it took almost 49 hours for the Lakhta Center Tower to finish their world record pour.
