Ottawa, Canada: Giatec Scientific will receive a combined $3.2 million in federal funding to further study how the company’s technology can reduce the amount of CO2 emissions associated with concrete production.
Funding of $2.4 million was announced by the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development on October 3rd, 2018, as part of a $58.6 million investment in 14 Canadian clean technology companies. These projects are being funded through Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC), which works with Canadian companies to bring clean technologies to market. Giatec is well positioned to capitalize on the growth of cleantech, as Global experts expect the clean technology market to grow to $2.5 trillion by 2022.
Giatec will also receive a contribution of up to $800,000 from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) to support the research and development of artificial intelligence (AI) applications for predictive concrete analysis.
