Welcoming Steypustöðin as a new dealer.
OTTAWA, Canada: Giatec Scientific, the market leader of revolutionary concrete testing equipment, today announced it has partnered with Steypustöðin, an innovating concrete producer. Their headquarters are in Malarhöfði, Iceland, home to the company’s largest concrete plant. They will introduce SmartRock® sensors (along with other Giatec solutions) to contractors in Iceland, giving them better access to their concrete’s temperature and strength.
SmartRock is the most widely used wireless concrete sensor, currently being implemented in over 6,000 construction projects worldwide. As the first truly wireless sensor introduced to the market in 2015, SmartRock is the leading concrete maturity sensor for accurate monitoring of concrete curing and hardening. Unlike time-consuming and error-prone break tests, or cumbersome wired sensors, Giatec’s patented maturity sensor uses a highly accurate ASTM-approved testing method. Together with the Giatec 360 platform, this has enabled faster, safer, and more economical concrete construction.
‘’As part of Steypustöðin´ commitment to offer its best services to the construction market in Iceland and introduce advanced concrete technologies and innovated solutions that would be of added values to the projects, we realized that it is of vital importance to introduce Giatec SmartRock and BlueRock sensors as smart and reliable tools to predict in real time the in-situ concrete strength and relative humidity in the structures. With Giatec sensors, Steypustöðin would be able to assist the contractors to save some construction related costs by being able to define the right time for removal of formwork, post-tensioning slabs as well as applying final topping on concrete substrates that usually require low internal relative humidity. With Giatec 360, the contractors in Iceland will have an easy access and better control on their projects quality data.’’
