Giatec is committed to eliminating and preventing barriers to accessibility, ensuring equal access and participation for all employees, customers, and guests. We will continue to understand and fulfill all obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). This plan highlights some of the steps Giatec Scientific Inc. (“Giatec”) is taking to meet those obligations.
Training
We are committed to providing training to all Giatec employees on Ontario’s accessibility standards and the Ontario Human Rights Code as it relates to persons with disabilities.
Giatec will continue to train every person as soon as practicable after being hired and provide training in respect of any changes to the policies.
Accessible Emergency Information
Giatec is committed to providing its employees, customers, and guests with publicly available emergency procedures, plans or public safety information in an accessible way, as soon as practical, upon request.
Information and Communications
Giatec is committed to meeting the communication needs of people with disabilities. We will collaborate with people with disabilities to determine what method of communication best meets their needs. Giatec is committed to providing, upon request, information in an accessible format or with communication that takes into account the requestor’s needs.
Giatec is committed to ensuring our website meets the appropriate accessibility standards. Our Marketing team will continue to review new website content and ensure it is up to date with WCAG 2.0, Level A. and make changes as required.
Employment
Giatec is committed to fair and accessible employment practices. Giatec has taken the following steps in order to notify the public and employees that, upon request, Giatec will accommodate people with disabilities during the recruitment and assessment process, as well as after hiring:
- Giatec has updated all job postings to ensure that any potential candidates know that we will provide accommodation upon request. We have also included the email they can use to request said accommodation.
- We have notified our Talent Acquisition team and Human Resources team that upon request we will make accommodations for public and staff with disabilities during the recruitment and assessment processes and when people are hired.
Giatec will take the following step to prevent and remove other accessibility barriers identified:
• Provide an open forum for reporting any accessibility barriers and needed accommodation.
